A new apartment complex has been approved for the top of Chestnut Street opposite Champlin Avenue. The site consists of two (2) three-story  buildings consisting of 73 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Groundbreaking for this project is planned for APRIL 2019.

THE FUN STOP, a new family entertainment center is currently under construction at the Shoprite Mall between Tractor Supply and The Dollar Store. This is a 20,000 square foot planned area that will have VR (Virtual Reality), Laser Tag, a Trampoline area, a Climbing Wall, and more. It will have a full kitchen and concession counter and will accommodate physically challenged individuals by installing a wheelchair lift. Reservations are currently being accepted.

‚ÄčNEW HOPE recently purchased the former Catskill Shopper Building on Route 55 and will be making significant improvements to the building in order to accommodate adult day facilities for their clients.

A new laundromat is planned for the Pankonin building site at 220 North Main Street. Plans are currently under review by both the Planning and Zoning Boards. The existing building, known to most as the former Pankonin Insurance building, will be demolished to make way for the new construction.

RUSt GRANTS updates: The Village is partnering with the Sullivan County Land Bank {see Links section of this website} to demolish nine (9) unsafe, unsightly buildings within Village limits. Grant applications were submitted on Friday, March 8th, through the RUSt [ Remove Unsafe Structures] Program offered by the County Division of Planning and Economic Development. If approved, demolition of the buildings will be bid out as soon as possible; all work must be completed by December 31st.
