A new laundromat is planned for the Pankonin building site at 220 North Main Street. Plans are currently under review by bothe the Planning and Zoning Boards. The existing building, known to most as the former Pankonin Insurance building, will be demolished to make way for the new construction.

PICCOLO PAESE restaurant is undergoing a major overhaul of their building, also with an expanded menu. They will be opening around APRIL 5, 2019.

ARCADIA is midway through consrtuction on an in-ground therapy pool for its residents. 


RUSt GRANTS updates: The Village is partnering with the Sullivan County Land Bank {see Links section of this website} to demolish nine (9) unsafe, unsightly buildings within Village limits. Grant applications were submitted on Friday, March 8th, through the RUSt [ Remove Unsafe Structures] Program offered by the County Division of Planning and Economic Development. If approved, demolition of the buildings will be bid out as soon as possible; all work must be completed by December 31st.

Any local contractors wanting to be considered should reach out to the Sullivan County Land Bank for further information.

AHAVAS ISRAEL URGENT CARE offices are now open for business.

A new apartment complex has been approved for the top of Chestnut Street opposite Champlin Avenue. The site consists of two (2) three-story  buildings consisting of 73 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Groundbreaking for this project is planned for APRIL 2019.

THE FUN STOP, a new family entertainment center is currently under construction at the Shoprite Mall between Tractor Supply and The Dollar Store. This is a 20,000 square foot planned area that will have VR (Virtual Reality), Laser Tag, a Trampoline area, a Climbing Wall, and more. It will have a full kitchen and concession counter and will accommodate physically challenged individuals by installing a wheelchair lift. Reservations are currently being accepted.

LAST LICKS is close to finishing an addition with an expanded kitchen and menu. They plan to re-open in APRIL 2019.

NEW HOPE recently purchased the former Catskill Shopper Building on Route 55 and will be making significant improvements to the building in order to accommodate adult day facilities for their clients.

CHOKER TO CHOKER, a tchotchke [tchotch·ke /ˈCHäCHkə/ noun 1.a small object that is decorative rather than strictly functional; a trinket.] boutique is coming to our Village! Stay tuned for a Grand Opening date.


LIBERTY PET FARM is under contruction and will be opening soon. They are located at 15 Oak Street near EXIT 99. The "doggie day care" will be run by Matt and Tina Johnstone! Let's say hello!
